Sharpener Bart Curto of California.
I am also certified by Smart International.

A. Yes. All my work comes with a written guarantee. You have 10 days to inspect and test your
shears to make sure you are completely satisfied with the end result.

A. Yes. I sharpen all makes and models of shears, including thinners, texturizers, and bamboo
knife edge shears.

5.Q. Do you Sharpen knives?

A. No, only scissors and clippers.

6. Q. How long will it take to have my shears sharpened and returned to me?

A. All shears are usually sharpened and returned with-in 24-48 hrs upon receipt. Unless other
wise noted on our Turn Around page.

7. Q. How often do I need my shears re-sharpened?

A. It is usually determined on how often you use your shears. A general rule of thumb is every 6
months to 1 year for shears that are used everyday. Or when you feel that your shears are
becoming dull.

8. Q. How do I package my shears?

A. All Shears need to be packaged in padded envelopes or in boxes padded with shipping
wrap or newspaper. See our shipping page for more information.

9. Q. Do you charge return shipping?

A. No, return shipping is free but shipping the shears to us is your expense. .

10. Q. Do you ship insured?

A. Yes. All return shipping is INSURED AND FREE. We would highly recommend shipping your
shears insured. It only costs a few extra dollars.

11. Q. How often do you ship?

A. We ship shears every Mon., Wed., and Fri. or the next available work day. Unless otherwise
stated on our Home page.

12. Q. When will my shears or clippers arrive?

A. Within the Northwest it usually takes 2-5 business days for you to receive your shears back
after we receive, sharpen, and  ship them back to you. For other parts of the US it may take 7-
10 business days to receive your shears back. If you need your shears sooner please call us
and we may be able to accommodate you, depending on the size of the order and how busy we
are.

13.Q. Will you clean and lubricate my shears and clippers?

A. All shears and clippers are cleaned, lubricated, and polished other wise known as
conditioned before they leave the shop.

14.Q. Do you balance or adjust the free fall of my shears?

A. Yes. Unless you request otherwise.

15.Q. Do you straighten my shears if they are bent?

A.Yes, by your permission, if your scissors are found bent then we will try re-straightening them
for $10.00.

16. Q. Why do my shears fold hair?

A. There are two main reasons why your shears are folding hair. They are bent from being
dropped or they are two loose. They could also be dull.
To test and see if your shears are bent hold them side ways towards a light, cup your hands
around them and if you see an area that is not showing light through the crack or if there is a
slight bend in one side.
If you can’t see that they are bent you might try adjusting the free fall by adjusting the bolt on the
side of the shears or by using a pair of shear tighteners. If they are still bending hair than they
are dull and need sharpening. When your shears are sent to me, I will check them to see if they
are bent before they are sharpened.

17.Q. Why do my shears click?

A. It sounds like you have lost your bumper/silencer and the tips are most likely crossing. Check
to see if the tips are crossing by looking at the end of the shears carefully. If you don’t have a
bumper/silencer send them to my shop and I can put one in when I sharpen your shears.
*Please refer to the price sheet for pricing.

18. Q. Why do my clippers rattle/buzz?

A. Sometimes the socket on the clipper set gets bent when they are pulled off of clipper
machines in-correctly and they need to be bent back and in some cases replaced. If this
doesn't fix the problem the ears need to be bent inward. Very rarely is there something wrong
with the clipper machine itself.
