You could buy a sunhat, and be shaded for a summer or two. Or you could learn how to make a sunhat out of cattails, and get so fired up about weaving your own that you never buy another one from the store! It is hard to describe the sense of satisfaction one feels when wearing a unique, handmade work of art as part of a functional wardrobe. This weekend workshop will cover how to harvest, process, and weave using the braided coil basketry technique, as well as the many different uses for cattail.
Stay with us for the weekend! Camping on our 40-acre forested property is available for the night of the 22nd, at no additional cost. Students should come prepared to provide their own meals, but a fully equipped outdoor kitchen space will be available for cooking.
Class tuition: $85 Pre-registration is required and space is limited! You will receive an email with directions and more information upon registration.
