About the Food
Breakfast will be served around 8am and dinner will be served around 6pm. There is a 1-2 hour lunch break midday where participants can eat lunch, which you must provide for yourself. Our main fire is available all day for cooking or heating lunch and snacks. Especially if the weather is cool or rainy, we provide hot water for tea all day. We provide hearty, organic (and local when possible) food made from scratch in our fully equipped outdoor kitchen. Most meals are meat based, and have optional dairy and wheat. Vegetarian option is also available. We love coffee, and are pleased to be able to serve hot organic coffee with breakfast each morning.
We welcome musical instruments, singing, storytelling, and sharing by the fire at night. We encourage merriment, but ask all participants to be respectful of others.
We usually make a few different fires, as well as a place for quiet discussion, to ensure that everyone can enjoy themselves in the evenings. Some instructors and others may offer other activities and facilitated discussions in the evenings.
We welcome children and families and want all of the children to feel safe and taken care of. We ask all participants to help us create a safe place for the children,. During class hours, children's games and earth skills activities will be hosted by our Kids Program instructors but kids are not required to participate.
